v0.15.0: A smoother day on the farm

This release plants the first thing in the game whose payoff is measured in hours: an apple tree, gifted at Level 4. The rest is a quality-of-life pass on watering, which never felt like it did much, and on the first crops after wheat, which were priced to keep you farming wheat.

  • An apple tree at Level 4. Nothing in the first five levels asked you to come back. The goose now hands over a tree that ripens one apple every eight hours and holds three, so a return the next day finds it exactly full. Apples sell for 500 Sigils, more trees are sold in Structures under their own heading, and a notification tells you when a tree is full. Farms already past Level 4 receive theirs on next launch.
  • Trees level at a tree's pace. A tree yields a few apples a day rather than a field's hundreds, so apple Mastery climbs its own gentler curve: the first levels arrive within the week, the Uncommon Fortune blessing within about a month. A tree also grows with its Mastery, bigger and faster together, so it always fills in about a day.
  • Watering is twice as fast. Wet soil grew crops at one and a half times normal speed, which on a thirty-second wheat you cannot see. It is now double, and the Water Power blessing tops out at two and a half times.
  • The crop timer counts every number. It refreshed once a second while counting down faster than that, so it skipped numbers and read as a stuck clock. It now steps one at a time, and quicker when the soil is wet, so a watered crop visibly races where a dry one walks.
  • Harvest notifications arrive when the crop does. The reminder treated the crop's growth figure as real seconds, so the more you watered something the later its notification came. Watering a tile now moves its reminder too.
  • The first crops after wheat cost less to plant. Carrot drops from 20 Sigils to 5, potato from 40 to 12, rice from 60 to 18 and corn from 100 to 30. Wheat's seed is free, so every crop after it was competing with a rival that had no costs at all.
  • Wheat is a cash crop now, not an experience crop. Growing in thirty seconds rewarded sitting still rather than coming back, so wheat out-earned every other crop on experience until strawberry at level 160. It now gives less experience from level 20 rather than 120, putting potato, rice and corn above it. Levels 1 to 19 are untouched, and wheat is still the best money for your time.
  • Crop Idols. Reaching Mastery 50 on a crop unlocks a small idol for it, one tile across, that improves that crop for seven tiles around itself: wheat's grows faster, carrot's drops extra fruit, corn's rolls rarer harvests. One per crop, priced by what its crop is worth. The Harvest Shrine now waits for Mastery 200.
  • A tap anywhere moves the goose on. Tapping the dimmed area around Honk's dialog advances it again, and the back arrow makes an over-tap recoverable.
  • The opening comic hands the farm over. It read as the goose's own story, and then the tutorial greeted you as the owner. The handover is now on the page.
  • The goose's spare goals name the action. Between mission chains the note read Reach Level N; all six now read Harvest to reach Level N.
  • The hedges are redrawn. Only the plain bush had been drawn at the island's pixel scale; its corners, junctions and run ends were still four times that detail, so a hedge changed texture wherever it turned. All three styles now match piece for piece.

Watering is the thing you do most, so it seemed worth making it feel like something. Tell me whether it does.
