Decorations
Paths, ground covers, fences, hedges and the Lantern: what each costs, when it unlocks, and how they fit together.
How decorating works
Decorations are bought per tile from the Decorations menu. They're purely for looks: nothing here changes how your crops grow. The first path opens at L15, and new styles keep arriving all the way to L440.
- Tap to paint. Pick a style and tap tiles to lay it. Tapping a tile that already has the same style removes it.
- Drag to paint. With Drag to Act on (Settings › Gameplay), press and drag to lay a whole path, fence or hedge in one stroke. A drag only adds: it never removes what's already there, so you can't wipe out a path by sweeping over it.
- Everything is refunded. Erasing a decoration gives back what you paid for it. Restyling a tile charges only the difference.
- Decorations go on grass. Paths can also go on empty tilled soil, which they bury. You can't paint over crops, structures or rivers.
Paths
Paths join up by themselves: each tile picks its corner, straight, T or crossroads piece from the paths around it. Any path joins any other, so you can run a dirt track into a patch of Fitted Fieldstones.

Ground covers
Late in the game the Decorations menu adds ground covers. They're laid and joined exactly like paths, but they read as growth or weather rather than a road, and they're meant for repainting a whole field. They cost more per tile the later they unlock.

Path colours
After the materials come 16 flat colour paths, 2
a tile each. They join like any other path, and let you draw patterns, lettering or pixel art across an island.

Fences
11 fence styles open between L15 and L90. A fence joins only to fences of the same style, since different styles don't line up at the seams.

Pearl Scallop Fence
A fence on its own
Tap a fence tile that isn't joined to anything, with no tool selected, to change its look: front panel, side panel, then a lone post. The Metal Fence only has the front panel.

Hedges
Three hedges open together at L50, 20
a tile. Unlike fences, any hedge joins any other, so you can mix leaf colours in one run. Hedges never join fences.

Flowering Hedge
Large Hedge
A hedge joins up and down and at corners, but a straight row across shows as a line of separate bushes. That's on purpose.
Large Hedge
The Large Hedge is a single tall hedge, 4 tiles wide and 1 deep. It sits in the Decorations menu next to the painted hedges but is placed like a structure: position it, then confirm. It costs a flat 120
and you get all of it back if you remove it.
Lantern

A lamp post that opens at L195, on the Lighting page of the Decorations menu. It's the only thing on your island that follows the clock: at night it lights the ground around it, and by day it does nothing. It's pure decoration.
Like the Large Hedge, a Lantern is placed like a structure: position it, then confirm. It can stand on a path, but not on a fence or a hedge. Lanterns point one of four ways. Long-press one to lift it, tap the rotate button until the arm faces the way you want, then drop it.
The first Lantern costs 2,500
. Each one after costs 1.35 times the last, rounded down to a whole Sigil, and the price stops rising after 40 lanterns.
Fences and hedges on paths
A fence or hedge can stand on top of a path. Lay the path first and then the fence, or the other way round: either order works, and dragging a path along a fence line paves underneath it. The path underneath still joins up with the paths around it.
- Tap the fence or hedge again with its own style and it comes off, leaving the path.
- Erasing the tile clears both layers and refunds both.
- Structures can stand on paths, but not on fences or hedges.
